Round 3 of the Senior British League is taking place at DHS Greenhouse Progress today and it was the home team which got off to the quickest start in the morning matches.

DHS Greenhouse Progress took a comfortable 8-0 win over Ellenborough in double quick time, the progress squad of Po Huang Chen, Jason Sugrue, Tong Da Qing and Daniel Basterfield were all too strong for the Ellenborough team of Lorestas Trumpauskas, Jimmy Walsh, Alex Green and Mindaugas Sinkus.

Leaders Drumchapel Glasgow were not as quick to finish but were almost as dominant as they ran out 6-2 winners over Sycamore, Sam Perry turned in an excellent performance to beat Steven Jenkins in 4 games and Sean Cullen took a tight 5 games win over Craig Hardie in the final match but nobody else could stop the 2008-9 Champions why are looking odds on to repeat that performance in 2009-10

BATTS teams Peniel faced bottom of the table Derwent and also ran out comfortable winners 6-2. Two wins for Wang Zheng as he beat Matt Dodds and Simon Nouch, Simon however had the better of his clash with John Holland winning in three straight games. Both John Holland and Zac Zilesnick beat Stephen Horstead  and Zac added a win over Richard Smith as well as did Richie Venner. Matt Dodds took the second Derwent match with a four game defeat of Venner.

The most competitive match of the morning session saw 2nd place Westfield face 4th place Ormesby. Westfield started on the wrong foot as their Number 1 Damien Nicholls fell to Michael Marsden 11-8 in the fifth game as did Richard Andrews in three straight games. David Meads was also in top form for Ormesby taking wins over Niall Cameron in three straight games and then inflicting a second 5 game defeat on Damien Nicholls.  Patrick Thomas was similary unstopable beating Wilson Huart and Niall Cameron. For Westfield, Richard Andrews and Wilson Huart both took wins over Karina Le Fevre.
